Private Dining Questions, Answered
How many guests can you seat for a private function?
We seat 20 to 60+ guests, and we also offer exclusive hire of the entire restaurant. Smaller groups take part of the dining room; larger celebrations such as christening lunches and wedding receptions usually take the whole venue. Cocktail-style functions are available on request.
How much does a private function cost per person?
Our Italian set menus start at $62 per person for La Bella Vita and $72 per person for La Dolce Vita. Both include soft drinks and still and sparkling mineral water, and all prices include 10% GST. A minimum spend of $3,500 applies to exclusive private functions.
Do you host christenings in the Inner West?
Yes — christening and baptism lunches are one of the things we do most. We have hosted christening lunches for 60 guests with the entire restaurant exclusively theirs. The Leichhardt and Haberfield churches are all a short drive away, so families come straight from the service to the table without anyone getting lost on the way.
Can we hire the whole restaurant exclusively?
Yes. Exclusive venue hire gives you the entire restaurant with no other diners, subject to the $3,500 minimum spend. We open on Sundays for private functions only, which makes Sunday the easiest day to get the whole venue.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes. Every menu is built with you in advance, so vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy requirements are planned into the courses rather than improvised on the night. Tell us the numbers when you enquire and we will build around them.
Can we bring our own wine or celebration cake?
Yes to both. Corkage is $4 per person, and cakeage is $3 per person with the cake cut and served as platters.
How far in advance should we book?
For a weekend function, four to six weeks is comfortable. December and the weeks around Easter and Mother's Day book out much earlier — for a Christmas party, see our Christmas function page and enquire by October.
Is there parking and public transport nearby?
Street parking on Marion Street and the surrounding streets is generally easy, particularly in the evening. The L1 Dulwich Hill light rail stops at both Marion and Leichhardt North, a short walk away.
