La Botte D'Oro Pty Ltd ("La Botte D'Oro", "we", "us") respects your privacy and handles your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

2. What we collect

• Booking enquiries: name, email, phone, party size, date, message.
• Function / event enquiries: name, email, phone, event type, date, guest count.
• Gift card purchases: buyer name, email, recipient name, recipient email, optional message, payment details (handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number).
• Newsletter (if/when offered): email and consent record.
• Server logs: IP address, browser type, page visited (kept for security/diagnostics, typically 30 days).

3. How we use it

• To respond to your enquiries and confirm your bookings.
• To process gift card orders and email the voucher to the recipient you nominate.
• To send transactional emails (receipts, reminders, balance confirmations).
• To improve the website and prevent abuse.

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use your information for advertising or profiling.

4. Third parties we share data with

To run this website and the gift card system we rely on a small set of trusted providers, who receive only the minimum data needed:

• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions.
• Supabase — encrypted database for content management and gift card records.
• Stripe — credit-card processing for gift card purchases (PCI-DSS compliant).
• SMTP2GO — transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, gift card emails).
• OpenTable — table reservations (separate privacy policy applies once you click through).
• Google Maps — embedded map and place data on the contact and homepage.

5. Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies required to operate (e.g. keeping you signed in to the admin area). We do not use tracking, retargeting, or advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

• Booking and enquiry messages: kept while we are corresponding with you, then deleted within 12 months.
• Gift card records: kept for 7 years to meet Australian financial record-keeping obligations.
• Server logs: typically 30 days.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Confirm what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's inaccurate.
• Delete your information (subject to record-keeping laws).

8. Security

We use HTTPS across the entire site, encrypted databases, and least-privilege access for staff. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.

9. Updates

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
